The Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of parents, district personnel, agency representatives and other individuals concerned with the needs of individuals with disabilities. The primary function of the CAC is to advise the district on Special Education programs and services. The CAC monitors the needs of the Special Education population by utilizing information received from concerned parents, teachers, administrators and community members. The CAC is committed to maintaining and developing high quality programs in the district.
The Special Education Parent Handbook was created by the Kern High School District Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to help parents understand more about the process of Special Education and their important role as a partner in education.
