The Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of parents, district personnel, agency representatives and other individuals concerned with the needs of individuals with disabilities. The primary function of the CAC is to advise the district on Special Education programs and services. The CAC monitors the needs of the Special Education population by utilizing information received from parents, teachers, administrators and community members. The CAC is committed to maintaining and developing high quality programs in the district.

Our department is looking for community members who would be interested in serving as a Surrogate Parent. A Surrogate Parent is a person who is appointed to act in the interests of a student with a disability when that students parent/guardian is unable to make educational decisions. The Surrogate Parent is a part of the students Individualized Education Plan (IEP)Team and works with the school to plan the student's Special Education services.
