KHSD Weekly Wrap-Up for September 1, 2023

In the latest KHSD Weekly Wrap-up, Arvin High celebrates the life and accomplishments of beloved educator Larry Hallum. We will also introduce you to the District's new student board member, who shares why representing the student voice is important. In addition, we will hear from a longtime teacher mentor who encourages other teachers to lean into mentorship. Finally, students learn about the power of connection through The Connection Project.

The mission of the Kern High School District is to provide programs and services to allow ALL students to graduate from high school prepared to succeed in the workplace and at the post-secondary level.

Career Technical Education

Since 2014, the goal of the Kern High School District's CTE expansion effort has been to create more opportunities for students to access career and technical programs while pursuing their high school diplomas.
KHSD's commitment to CTE has resulted in:
• Growth in the number of program offerings at our premier CTE capstone campuses (Regional Occupational Center and Career Technical and Education Center)
• New and varied CTE offerings at our 19 comprehensive sites and 6 alternative school sites
• New and dynamic partnerships with local industry partners
