In this week's KHSD News, we share encouraging messages as students prepared for finals week and the end of the semester. Plus, students and teachers are getting creative for this year's virtual SkillsUSA contest, and the Blade family is stepping up to help students and their families during these challenging times.
The Kern High School District will no longer serve meals on Fridays beginning the week of January 11. Meals will still be distributed to children ages 2 to 18 Monday through Thursday from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at comprehensive high schools and Nueva Continuation High School. Then from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at Arvin High School. We will still provide Friday meals, weekend meals, and holiday meals during Thursday's distribution.
The mission of the Kern High School District is to provide programs and services to allow ALL students to graduate from high school prepared to succeed in the workplace and at the post-secondary level.
KHSD's commitment to CTE from 2015 to 2018 has resulted in: • A 60% growth in the number of program offerings at our premier CTE capstone campus (Regional Occupational Center) • New and varied CTE offerings at our 18 comprehensive sites • New and dynamic partnerships with local industry partners
