E-Rate
The Kern High School District participates in the FCC's schools and libraries universal support program, commonly know as E-rate. The E-rate program is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), and provides discounts to qualifying schools and libraries for telecommunication and internet service related purchases.
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) stipulates that schools which participate in the E-rate program must provide internet training and policy awareness for their students.
