The Kern High School District is dedicated to maximizing student success. Ongoing communication among all educational partners is the key to ensuring our students are supported to the best of our ability. The 2026-27 scheduled LCAP Public Forums for educational partners are listed below. Spanish interpretation will be available, and some LCAP Public Forums for school-community educational partners will be held remotely via Zoom.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are not able to attend one of the LCAP Community Public Forum options, don't hesitate to get in touch with Robert Moore ([email protected]) or Stefanie Bye ([email protected]). We want to hear from all community partners and educational partners. In addition, we are also meeting/engaging with parent advisory groups, student advisory council(s), outside community partners/groups, faculty associations, and employee groups. DRAFT DEVELOPMENT
October - February
KHSD will meet with Educational Partners, Student Advisory Groups, and Parent Advisory Groups and hold Public Forums (open to anyone) to gather feedback about the LCAP.
April/May
KHSD will work with the LCAP Advisory Council and District Parent Advisory Council/District English Parent Advisory Council on proposed draft versions of the 2025-26 LCAP.

KHSD will post the draft of the following year's LCAP for public review.

KHSD staff will continue working with educational partners, county partners, and staff to review and assess this draft in the coming days and weeks. If we make formatting changes or updates to the draft, we will post them here.
In addition, KHSD will make necessary changes to the proposed LCAP draft after the Office of the Governor releases the May budget revision.

KHSD Board of Trustees Meeting at 7:00 p.m. - move for adoption of the 2026-27 LCAP
Education Code 52060 (g): The Governing Board of a School District shall consult with teachers, principals, administrators, other school personnel, the district's local bargaining units, parents, and pupils in developing the Local Control and Accountability Plan.
Education Code 52062: The superintendent of the school district shall notify members of the public of the opportunity to submit written comments regarding the specific actions and expenditures proposed to be included in the local control and accountability plan or annual update to the local control and accountability plan, using the most efficient method of notification possible. This paragraph shall not require a school district to produce printed notices or to send notices by mail.
