Please enjoy this edition of KHSD NEWS. This week, we showcase many special recognition ceremonies honoring our students, community partners, and staff members for an incredible year of service, mentorship, and dedication.

The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is an important component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Under the LCFF, all school districts are required to prepare an LCAP, which describes how they intend to meet annual goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities identified pursuant to EC Section 52060(d).

In our April issue of KHSD NEWS, we celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our students on the state and national level, innovative programs at school sites across the district, and special events honoring students, staff, and Kern High School District employees. You will also find details about community-wide collaborations and partnerships enhancing STEM education, Regional Occupational Center student skills, and excellence in Project Lead The Way curriculum.

This week, the Kern High School District was honored on the state level as a Model SARB program, our continuation high schools were recognized as Model Schools, and we had several students take top honors in competitions throughout California! Over the last several days, we also celebrated our teachers and school nurses for their dedication to the education, health, and well-being of our students, as well as our talented artists and Merit Scholars!
