VIRTUAL TOUR: KHSD Career Technical Education Center (CTEC)
The Kern High School District is excited to open its new Career Technical Education Center (CTEC) at Independence High School, which will serve over 1,200 students during daytime programs. The state-of-the-art facility houses healthcare, technology, and public safety programs, which were previously offered at the Regional Occupational Center (ROC). CTEC is also offering two new programs: Logistics and Distribution and Careers in Education. The facility includes a Valley Strong Credit Union branch, Kern Learn classrooms, several conference rooms, and Innovations Hall, a 250-seat theater available to industry partners and the community to host special events. Over the past five years, the KHSD has worked closely with industry partners to develop various programs and opportunities. The training offered at CTEC will reflect the training needed to build our next workforce in Kern County.
