About Kern High School District Transportation

The Kern High School District’s vast boundaries expand over 3,200 square miles within Kern County.

As a support service to education, the Kern High School District’s Transportation Department provides transportation for more than 39,000 students to 18 Comprehensive Campuses, 4 Special Education Centers, 3 Career Technical Education Sites and 1 Adult Education Center.  Transportation services include General and Special Education home-to-school transportation, Mid-day bus runs supporting the District’s Innovative Programs, Athletic and Extra-curricular field trips.

Successful completion of the Driver Training Program may lead to substituting for the District as a School Bus Driver.

 

The Kern High School District is currently seeking candidates for Substitute School Bus Driver/Trainee Opportunities.

 

Qualified candidates must…

Possess a clean DMV, (K-4) Driving Record

Enjoy working with high school age students

Be willing to provide excellent customer service

Be dependable and reliable

 

 

 

Trainee Wage: $20.22 per hour (Behind the Wheel time only – Classroom time is unpaid)

 

Successful completion of the Driver Training Program may lead to substituting for the District as a School Bus Driver.

Kern High School District, Substitute School Bus Drivers are currently compensated $23.48 per hour.
