In this week's KHSD News, we will hear from a Kern Valley senior who penned a heartfelt letter on behalf of her graduating class about how their school year changed in an instant. Plus, Congressman Kevin McCarthy sends a special message to seniors, and we celebrate the many accomplishments of our students and staff around the district.

Because schools are closed due to COVID-19, children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals can get up to $365 in food benefits. These benefits are in addition to school pick up meals. These food benefits are called Pandemic-EBT or P-EBT.

Kern Valley High School senior, Mariah Maxwell, was tasked with writing a letter to the coronavirus, which has forced school sites to shut down for the rest of the school year and has impacted students' lives, including senior events and graduations.
