At-Home COVID Testing

The Kern High School district received At-Home Rapid Antigen COVID test kits from the State of California to provide to students. Each test kit contains two tests for students to use at home. These tests are designed to help slow the spread of COVID-19 after the holiday break. Students can test immediately, if they get sick with symptoms, or if they are exposed to someone with COVID-19.

There is no requirement to use the test. The test is not meant to replace our current testing program or change existing protocols. Each school site will reach out to students, parents, and guardians to inform them of how the tests will be distributed. Parents or guardians should contact their child’s school if their student has symptoms, tests positive, or has any known exposure.
