KHSD Social Workers create 2020 summer resources video for students and families

Since Kern High School District social workers are unable to connect with students over the summer physically, they are virtually connecting with them. Via video message, they are providing students and families with important resources while school is out. School social workers play an essential role in students' lives. They serve in many roles in the District, including truancy officer, case manager, student and parent advocate, student mediator, counselor, and distributor of resources and crisis intervention.

Kern Valley senior pens heartfelt letter to the coronavirus

Kern Valley High School senior, Mariah Maxwell, was tasked with writing a letter to the coronavirus, which has forced school sites to shut down for the rest of the school year and has impacted students' lives, including senior events and graduations.
