The Kern Promise

An exciting new partnership has just been announced in Kern County. The Kern High School District (KHSD), Bakersfield College (BC), and California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) are working together with a common goal of improving educational outcomes for all students.

The Kern Promise is a commitment to assist students in completing their Associates Degree for Transfer within two years and sharing responsibility with the students who agree to uphold high academic standards. BC will also provide support allowing students to continue their education at a university, or be prepared with the skills needed to enter the workforce.  This includes a commitment to timely completion of instruction, celebrating scholastic milestones, financial assistance, and clearing the pathways to achieving the educational goals of our students and our community.
