KHSD Student Heading to West Point

Arvin High School (AHS) is proud to announce one of their students has received a Certificate of Appointment for the United States Military Academy at West Point. Annmarie Narvaez is the first Arvin High School student to be nominated for this prestigious accomplishment. The senior is a standout basketball player and Second Lieutenant in the exceptional JROTC program at AHS.

“Annmarie is a great example of a student that sets a goal and works extremely hard to achieve it. She has been a superb role model for all to follow during her tenure at Arvin High School.” – John Lunsford, AHS JROTC Advisor, Retired First Sergeant, U.S. Army

Narvaez credits the JROTC program for establishing her skill set as a leader and in helping her discover ways to be successful in everything she does. The relationships she has developed at school and in the community also inspire her.

“Without this program, I would not be the person I am today, or have the goals I have today.”
– Annmarie Narvaez, Second Lieutenant, AHS JROTC

Narvaez is looking forward to a career working for the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
