Project BEST Provides Field Trips, College Experience

On January 11, 2017, 200 KHSD Project BEST (Black Excellence in Scholarship and Teaching) and Black Student Union (BSU) students attended the annual California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) visit.  Students heard from CSUB President, Dr. Horace Mitchell, on resiliency; Dr. Wallace on the value of education; and Mr. Riggins, CSUB’s Director of Admissions, on the process of getting into college and financial aid opportunities.

This is the largest group of Project BEST and BSU students to attend the CSUB visit. February 11, 2017 students attended the Black College Expo in Los Angeles.
