Centennial's "MendTality" Wins 2nd in VE National Business Plan Competition

Six Virtual Enterprise (VE) Business Plan teams from the Kern High School District competed nationally at the 2024 Youth Business Summit in New York City on April 11-12, 2024.

 

The teams from Centennial, Bakersfield, Stockdale, and Ridgeview high schools joined thousands of the top youth entrepreneurs from across the country to participate in the national conference. During the week, they engaged in various business competitions, leadership events, and professional networking opportunities, showcasing the skills they have developed by managing their VE companies throughout the academic year.

 

Out of the top 20 VE business plan teams in the competition, Stockdale High School’s “Edaptaware” and “ReVino Essentials,” Centennial High School's "MendTality," Bakersfield High School's "Mynet," and Ridgeview High School's "Sansa" and “Tiny Treasures” stood out by advancing to the semi-finals of the competition. 

 

In the final competition on Friday, April 12, 2024, Centennial High School's "MendTality" team secured 2nd place in the nation, while Bakersfield High School's "Mynet” team achieved 8th place, where both teams ranked among the top 8 business plan teams in the nation. 

 

We are immensely proud of our students and staff who represented their schools and communities with distinction at the 2024 Youth Business Summit. Their dedication, hard work, and innovative spirit have brought them to this national stage, and their achievements reflect the high caliber of education and mentorship by our staff and business partners.
