The Kern High School District’s vast boundaries expand over 3,200 square miles within Kern County.
As a support service to education, the Kern High School District’s Transportation Department provides transportation for more than 35,000 students to 18 Comprehensive Campuses, 4 Special Education Centers, 3 Career Technical Education Sites and 1 Adult Education Center. Transportation services include General and Special Education home-to-school transportation, Mid-day bus runs supporting the District’s Innovative Programs, Athletic and Extra-curricular fieldtrips.
Trainees are compensated during behind-the-wheel instruction at the rate of $15.32 per hour.
Successful completion of the Driver Training Program may lead to substituting for the District as a School Bus Driver.
