This summer students from Fruitvale Junior High had the opportunity to explore a variety of Career Technical Education opportunities at the Regional Occupational Center (ROC). Nearly 100 students attended the three week camp where they took week long courses in robotics, coding, computer repair, automotive technology, and auto body & fender repair. The programs were offshoots of existing programs at the ROC and were taught by ROC instructors.
These hands on opportunities helped to spark student’s interest and curiosity in the different career fields. Next year the ROC has plans to expand the camps to allow more students to attend. Anyone interested in learning more about the training programs at the ROC should visit the school’s webpage at roc.kernhigh.org.
