One Book Project Resources and Archives (formerly OBOB)
KHSD Instructional Services is proud to be a partner in Bakersfield's One Book Project. The 2019 selection, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba, was our most recent collaboration with Kern County Library and CSUB.
This website houses all curricular and parent center resources for The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and The Red Pencil by Andrea Davis Pinkney.
Our curriculum teams are offering the following opportunities for teachers to participate:
- A 9th/10th grade English module focusing on The Red Pencil by Andrea Pinkney;
- An 11th/12th grade English module focusing on The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind;
- An art unit centered around the themes explored in the book;
- A variety of science lessons that explore the scientific concepts featured in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.

- "School to Prison Pipeline" ERWC-style module
- $2 a Day multidisciplinary units (English, math, kinesiology, science, social studies, and library resources)
