In addition to mentoring new teachers, Kern High School District New Teacher Support (NTS) partners with California universities to host student teachers who are completing the clinical practice portion of their credential program.
These aspiring teachers, who are not yet credentialed, are placed in KHSD classrooms under the direct supervision of a credentialed master teacher and with the ongoing guidance of their university.
Our role is to:
- Coordinate with universities to ensure placements align with candidates’ credentialing requirements.
- Provide clear communication between universities, school sites, and district staff.
Through this collaboration, KHSD is proud to help develop the next generation of educators while enriching the learning opportunities for our students today.
