Title IX - Athletics

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 ("Title IX") is most commonly associated with its application to athletic opportunities. However, Title IX applies to all KHSD schools and it prohibits discrimination in all educational programs and activities, not just athletics. Athletic programs are considered educational programs and activities.

Title IX provides female athletes the right to equal opportunities in athletics. The Kern High School District is committed to providing equal opportunities and benefits to all of its student-athletes.

The KHSD’s Title IX Officer is Dean Juola, Equity Compliance Officer/Title IX Coordinator. To file a complaint with KHSD regarding Title IX, please contact Mr. Juola.
