Delays
In the event of foggy conditions, the dispatch office makes contact with designated people throughout our area to evaluate the conditions. If the decision is made to call a fog delay, the decision
is made no later that 5:45 a.m. In order to make the
6:00 a.m. news report.
If only certain areas are foggy and the Transportation Department calls a delay (two hours), the delay will be for ALL high schools in the greater Bakersfield area. Delays cannot be called for individual school sites, regardless of patchy fog conditions.
Unless they are notified otherwise, school will operate on regular schedule. Also, listen to the radio or tune to a local television station on mornings when foggy conditions indicate the possibility of school being delayed.
