The Kern High School District Educational Foundation is a public, nonprofit, 501 (C) (3) foundation committed to supporting specific Kern High School District programs. Founded in 1989, the foundation has helped raise more than $2.1 million for such programs as Project 2000, Project BEST, Principal Partners' Day, the Physics Olympics, the SAT Preparation Program and the Stock Market Game. In the words of former Foundation President and Bakersfield businesswoman Michele Hay, the foundation has "helped thousands of students turn their dreams into realities."
