GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Seniors: If interested in being a speaker for Graduation sign up with Mrs. Smith in the Counseling Office today.  Speech Tryouts will be Tues., April 14, in Career Center Conference Room, immediately after school.

 

Attention Seniors!  Have you considered purchasing a page in the yearbook?  Listen up!  The deadline to purchase an ad is today.  After today no space will be sold.  There’s very little space left, so get your money in NOW.  Details in C-17 or finance office.

 

ATTN STUDENTS/STAFF:  Tonight is the Rebelette Dance concert and this year’s theme is “Rebelette Country Showdown.”  Tickets are $3.00 and can be purchased from any Rebelette.  Doors open at 6:30 show starts @ 7 p.m.

 

Rebel Talent Show DVD’s will be here today.  They will be delivered to your 6th period class.

 

MARCA is accepting students who wish to re-enroll (including new members) for one week only deadline is Wed. 3/24.   Check with Irene Canez for details.

 

The K.C. Probation Department is once again activating their Canine Drug Deterrence Program with visits to the KHSD comprehensive school sites.  Please be aware that these searches may include student lockers and/or student parking.  South High School is subject to a canine search.

 

The Following Colleges are offering summer programs:   Cornell Univ., UC Davis Young Scholars Program, George Washington Univ. Pre-College Program, Barnard College-Columbia University and UCLA Media Arts Summer Institute.  Also, UC Berkeley Open House, Saturday, April 17, 2010.  More info. in the Career Center.

 

Attention Sophomores and Juniors:  The Honors and Advanced Placement applications for English and US History are available.  Stop by Ms. Wright’s Room in D-27 to pick up an application. Spaces are limited so DO NOT WAIT!!!!!   

 

End War Club will meet Tuesday, 3/23 after school in Mrs. Madewell’s classroom.

 

Chess Club will meet on Friday after school in the library.

 

All Film Society Members:  Emergency Meeting after school today, all members must attend.

 

Alpine club mandatory meeting for the snow boarding/ skiing trip, Friday for all alpine club members.

 

The 2010 Miss Kern County Scholarship Program is accepting applications.  Must be 17-23 yrs, senior in high school, college student or a high school graduate working a min. of 32 hrs.  Miss Outstanding Teen 2010 applications are also being accepted for teens ages 13-17 yrs.  Email:  misskerncounty@bak.rr.com.
