This great site from UC Berkeley offers a clear rationale for evaluating what you find on the web, questions to ask when thinking critically about any web page, and tools and tricks to learn about its author, publisher, timeliness, quality, and reliability.  There’s even an online quiz for your students to compare real and “bogus” web sites.
