Kudos & Congratulations to:

Mr. Lemucchi who received the Teacher of Excellence Award this weekend for all of his hard work with the agriculture program.  Mr. L began the agriculture program more than 22 years ago with only 16 students.  Now the program has grown to nearly 300 students and thousands of students have been positively impacted by his dedication and loyalty to our high school students.

And...

Congratulations to all the Highland Ag Students.  This weekend, the California Ag Teacher's Association named Highland the best 2-3 teacher Ag Program in this Bakersfield area.  There are many great Ag programs in our community but Highland is standing out as an exceptional program because of the dedication and professionalism of the Highland Ag Students.  Nice job everyone.  Keep up the great work and we look forward to continuing your success for the remainder of the school year.  We are so proud of each and every student in the program - Mr. D and Mr. L.

Quote of the Week:

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

~John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 1917 to Nov. 1963) often referred to by his initials JFK, was the thirty-fifth President of the United States, serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. JFK is the brother of Robert F. Kennedy and Senator Ted Kennedy, and the first husband of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

**Construction Zone: Students please do not cross through the construction zone on Highway 178.  Pedestrians cannot always be seen by the heavy equipment operating in this area.  Trespassers will be cited by the police.  Stay safe by staying out of the construction zone.

The New FOOTBALL SCHEDULE can found by going to Athletics section and clicking on Football.  All other schedules will be up soon.

Parents and Students: Highland offers plenty of opportunities for parent and student involvement in a multiple of athletics or activities.  Your involvement makes a big difference in the school community and our future.  To ask how you can get involved - Email Kym Campbell, Dean of Athletics and Activities, one of our counselors, or one of our administrators.
