*       General Announcements: 

*       Congratulations to the JV Football Team for earning a League Co-Championship for the 2008 season.

*       ASVAB Results - Juniors and Seniors who took the ASVAB, report to the Cafeteria 1st period on Wednesday 11/26 for your results and interpretation meeting.

*       Powderpuff Football Change – the start time for the Royal Princess Rumble has changed to 6:00pm.  Warm-ups will start at 5:30pm.  Come on out and support your Junior and Senior girls.  Cost is only $2.

*       FCA Members just a reminder there will be no meeting on Monday night due to the Powderpuff Game.  So let’s all go out to the game and support our school.

*       Nickel, Dime, Quarter Drive - Count your quarters, pick-up those dimes from the ground!  The annual Nickel, Dime, Quarter Drive will begin Wednesday, Nov 19th and end Friday Nov 21st.  The third period class who donates the most “loose change” will win a pizza party and the second place class will get a donut party.  Your KICC Club will use the money raised to give thanks to local families this Thanksgiving.  Can Coleman, Groves, and Tiner keep on giving big…we will see!!

*       GSA Club Members – don’t forget to take your letters to room 304 by Wednesday, Nov 26th.

*       Spring Musical - From the same people who brought you Wicked comes the CHS spring musical Working!  If you act, sing or dance, even a little, plan on auditioning!  Audition dates are Dec 8th, 9th, and 10th.  Participation in the dance audition is mandatory.  You can pick up an audition form on the call board outside room 304 in the PAC.

*       Baseball Players please see Coach Roberts for Fitness Papers.

*       College Visits – juniors and seniors.  Please click on the “Scholarship and College Visit Info” link to get important information regarding upcoming scholarship deadlines and visits from College representatives, or drop by the Career Center and see Stacy Minnie.

*       Career Center Hours – The Career Center is now open every Thursday during both lunch periods!  All students, freshman through seniors, are welcome to come by with any questions they have about jobs, I.D. Cards, R.O.C, college info. or just to use the computers! 

*       NOR Afterschool Basketball Coaches – season runs from January - March 2009.  Up to 9 hours per week and are paid $8.50 per hour.  Must be 16 years or older and have reliable transportation.  Must be available from 2:30-4:30 for practices, games on Saturday’s for 3rd – 6th and Mon-Thurs late afternoons for 7th and 8th.  Schedule will conflict with Centennial’s spring sports.  Get an application on-line at www.norfun.org.

*       Marines – any student interested in the Marines, Staff Sergeant Holmes is on campus Ever Tuesday @ 11:50am in room 801.  Come by and visit him, he would be happy to answer all your military questions!

 

*       Seniors:

*       Bakersfield College – Seniors can now complete the fall 2009 on-line admission form and take the assessment test.  A B.C. Rep is in the Career Center every Monday from 10:30 – 11:30am to help you with any questions you may have.  Information about assessment dates is available in the Career Center.

*       CSUB – Tues. Dec. 2nd and Dec. 9th a CSUB Rep. will be on-site from 1st-4th period to answer all your questions about the application process!

*       University of the Pacific application deadline has been extended to December 1, 2008.

*       JOB for a few good seniors! - K.D.S. Marketing is looking for a few “Santa’s” and “Santa’s Helpers” for a one time job!  It is on Dec. 6th from 3-7pm at all Albertson’s locations in Bakersfield.  Santa is $15.00/hr. and helpers are $10.00/hr.  If you are interested please leave a message for Julie Mckinnley at 835-1619 and she will give you more info.

*       $2,000.00 Scholarship – Go to anycollege.com and sign up for the $2,000.00 student scholarship drawing.  One is awarded 4 times a year! No fee to sign up, just click on “Win a Scholarship”.
