Frequently asked questions

  • How can I enroll in Virtual Business?
You must be a senior who preferenced the class as a 1st choice elective. (Preferencing is done in the Spring of your Junior year.)  In addition to this, you must also obtain and timely submit a CHS Virtual Business application.  You may also be required to interview for enrollment in the class.  Students who are interested in enrolling in Virtual Business are encouraged to take classes within CHS's Business Department prior to their senior year of high school.  The skills obtained in computer classes will prove to be very valuable not only in Virtual Business but also in academics and in your future career.
  • What credits will I receive?
Seniors who successfully complete the 1-year 2-period Virtual Business class will receive 5 credits of CP Economics and 15 elective credits.  Juniors who complete the 1-year 1-period class will receive 10 elective credits.  (CHS Juniors are limited to 1 period of Virtual Business.  Seniors must be enrolled for 2 periods.)
  • Can I be fired?
YES!  If an employee's (employee aka Virtual Business student) behavior warrants termination of employment, the employee is fired.  Employment termination equals removal from the Virtual Business class.  If the student is removed from the class he/she will receive a failing grade ("F") in the class.
  • Can I be removed from my job position?
YES!  If your job performance is substandard, you risk being removed from your position and demoted to a position of lesser responsibility, or you may be fired.  If you are fired you will be removed from the class and will receive a failing grade.  A demotion will result in a class grade of no higher than a "C".
