In August 2006, Kern High School District will open Frontier High at the intersection of Allen Road and Kratzmeyer Road. New schools are opened with incoming 9th and incoming 10th grade students. There are no 11th or 12th grade classes at a school during its first year. 11th and 12th grade students within the boundary of a newly opened school attend the schools that previously served that area. The 2005 Bakersfield metropolitan high school boundaries are available at 2005 high school boundary map; 11th or 12th grade students in the Frontier area will be served at the schools that served their area in 2005. Below are a selection of more detailed area maps each focusing on a different section of town. As additional schools are opened (two more are anticipated for 2008 openings), boundaries will change.
