This college-prep course examines our community, county and state through the study of history, geography and government. Emphasizing the development of world cultures, students will understand the geographical forces, chronological flow of events and the dynamics of change that have shaped the way we live today. This course is a requirement for graduation from Arvin High School .
World Civilization ESL

This course is designed to meet the needs of students who speak a language other than English and who may not yet have developed the study skills required in a college-prep course. This course will cover the same material that World Civilization 9 covers, but with a focus on developing students reading, writing and speaking skills in the English Language. Oral and written participation in the students primary language is allowed so as to give higher level content to material. This course is a requirement for graduation from Arvin High School.
