Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisites: None
Alternative credit: Two semesters satisfy one year of Fine Arts credit for graduation.
Spanish 1 and 2 are for the student who has not studied Spanish before. Listening, speaking, reading and writing Spanish at the fundamental level are the skills that will be developed and evaluated each semester. As part of the study of the cultures of Hispanic countries, students will, among other activities.

Spanish 1S, 2S

Semester 1 and 2
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 5 per sernester
Prerequisites: Student and parents speak Spanish as a primary language
Alternative credit: Two semesters satisfy one year of Fine Arts credit for graduation.
Spanish 1S and 2S are for the student who has a working knowledge of Spanish. Listening, speaking, reading and writing Spanish at the fundamental level are the skills that will be developed and evaluated each semester. As part of the study of thc cultures of Hispanic countries, students will, among other activities.

Spanish 3P

Semester 1 and 2
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Spanish 1 and 2 or native-speaker literacy.
Spanish 3P teaches the student accentuation and advanced grammatical structures. Composition writing begins at this level. Oral work weighs significantly in the evaluation of the student's progress. The student will also read legends, short stories, essays and drama. Upon completion of appropriate paperwork and admission to Honors Program, student may receive the Honors credit for this class.

Spanish 3 Honors

Semester 1and 2
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Spanish 1 and 2 or native-speaker literacy.
Spanish 3 Honors teaches the student accentuation and advanced grammatical structures. Composition writing bcgins at this level. Oral work weighs significantly in the evaluation of the student's progress. The student will also read legends, short stories, essays and drama. Students must complete appropriatc paperwork and gain admission to Honors Program in order to receive Honors credit for this class.
