Credit: 5 per semester
Prequisites: None
Alternative credit: Two semesters satisfy one year of Fine Arts credit for graduation.
These courses will enable the students to acquire basic communication skills involving greetings, numbers, dates, weather, hmily, sports, etc. within simply structured conversation. Beginning skills of listening, speaking, and writing are developed. Awareness of French-speaking cultures is emphasized. Classes are highly participatory.

French 3P, 4P

Semester 1 and 2
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisites: Successful completion in French 1, 2
These courses are a continuation of the study of thc fundamentals of the French language. Additional vocabulary on familiar topics and longer sentence structure are emphasized through readings, films and other activities. Further understanding of French-speaking cultures is acquired. Group, oral and written activities will be used to practice new vocabulary and structures. Upon completion of appropriate paperwork and admission to Honors Program, student may receive the Honors credit for these classes.

French 3 Honors, 4 Honors
