Summary of Most Recent Site Inspection |
|
Arvin High was built in 1949 and continues to be well-maintained and one of the safest campuses in our district. The campus maintains an on-site janitorial staff and grounds crew at all times. We operate under an immediate removal of any graffiti policy. In the past few years, we experienced remodeling in the administration and counseling office as well as fresh paint in most classrooms on campus. Arvin High is scheduled to begin modernization of the gymnasium floor, locker room and equipment areas, and science lab classrooms in March of 2007. There are fire alarm systems, evacuation plans, and telephones in each classroom. Arvin High is fenced and gated around the entire perimeter of the campus. Last year’s Williams’ report offered the following anecdotal evidence and comment, “Site [Arvin High] is overdue for modernization work. […] District has been working on modernization plan and most of their maintenance issues will be resolved if this happens. Good school site. Conscientious staff.” Arvin High is in the process of undergoing major modernization to the aforementioned locker room areas, gym floor, and science lab classrooms as well as various minor aesthetic classroom improvements. |
