The Career Center is open daily 7:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and is open during nutrition break and lunch. Stop by if you have questions concerning college admission, financial aid, SAT & ACT testing and scholarships.

 

University of California "A-G" Requirements-Click on this  link to get a list of courses from Arvin High that are required to fulfill the "A-G" subject requirements for admission to the University of California as a freshman.

 

Attention Seniors-You will be applying for College in the next couple months.  Make sure you are prepared.  Register NOW for the SAT & ACT.  The SAT will be offered on the Arvin High campus October 6th, 2007.  Deadline to register is September 10th, 2007.  Stop by the Career Center for Registration Forms or register online.  Fee waivers are available for eligible students.  Also, the ACT will be offered October 27th, 2007 with a registration deadline of September 21st, 2007.  The ACT will also be offered in December on the Arvin High campus.

 

Financial Aid- All seniors should apply for FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Stop by the Career Center and pick up a paper form or a computer work sheet for an online application.  The priority deadline to apply is March, 2008.  This is free money for college, so apply now.  If you have any questions concerning financial aid stop by the Career Center.

 

Kern County College Night will be held at Rabobank Convention Center in Bakersfield, Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 6-9p.m. Many booths representing colleges will be there in addition to information on financial aid and scholarships. Information sessions for students and parents will be held at 6:30 and 7:45 p.m.

 

The Lamont College Resource Center  celebrated its grand opening on September 8, 2005 and is located on 12014 Main Street (next to the Courthouse) in Lamont.  Supervisor Mike Rubio has set up this center specifically for Arvin High Students.  You are invited to stop by and see what is available to you. 

 

Scholarship Info Available In Library-The Library now has a copy of two helpful publications for Latino students seeking scholarships, internships and fellowships: 2006-2007 National Directory of Scholarships, Internships, and Fellowships for Latino Students and National Directory of Hispanic Organizations. These publications were provided to us by one of our graduates-Cesar Moreno who is working for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C.
