Computer Literacy

Semester 1 and 2
Grade: 9
Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisites: None

Computer Literacy is a one-semester course required for all freshmen students.  This class introduces students to basic computer terms and concepts. In addition, the class provides hands-on experience for  learning the touch method keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs, and the Internet. Students are also introduced to a program called AVID-(Advancement Via Individual Determination) which helps them to manage their time, increase study skills and challenges themselves with a more rigorous curriculum. A new financial literacy component has been added to help our students with the concept of managing their finances.
