The JROTC curriculum encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects, including:
Communication Skills
Leadership
Physical Fitness
First Aid, Drug Abuse Prevention
History, Citizenship
Technology Awareness
Financial Management Skills (LET II, III and IV: can receive college credit)
...and many others
The program can be for 1 to 4 years, dependent on the students desires.
JROTC earns cadets academic grades, but its true measure of success is the young people it motivates to stay in school and graduate. It also develops the personal confidence and pride in self to avoid drugs and other negative peer pressures, and attain life skills that enhance success after graduation.
Elective credit of 5 units per semester is given as well as Heath Education credit and PE (2.5 units per semester) credit.
