LCAP Development Timeline

On June 26, 2017, the Kern High School Board adopted the 2017-2020 Local Control Accountability Plan. Please see information below on how the plan was developed. The 2017-2020 Local Control Accountability Plan can be found here.

The Kern High School District is dedicated to maximizing student success. Ongoing communication among all stakeholders is the key to making sure that our students are supported to the best of our ability. The 2016-2017 scheduled LCAP Public Forums for school-community stakeholders are as follows (schedule can change as needed, so check back as often as possible to see any possible changes and find one that works well for your family):

PLEASE NOTE: If you are not able to attend one of the LCAP Community Public Forum options, please contact Kenny Seals, Supervising Administrator or Cynthia Boyd, Sr. Staff Secretary at the District Office and we can arrange time to come in or use phone/email. We want to hear from all community partners and stakeholders. In addition, we are also meeting/engaging with parent advisory groups, student advisory council(s), outside community partners/groups, faculty associations and employee groups. The Kern High School District is dedicated to maximizing student success. DRAFT DEVELOPMENT
 
April/May (2017)

KHSD will work with LCAP Advisory Council and District Parent Advisory Council/District English Parent Advisory Council on proposed draft versions of the 2017-2018 LCAP. In addition, KHSD will make necessary changes to the proposed LCAP after the May budget revise that the Office of the Governor releases. Please contact Brian Mendiburu if you are not able to attend one of the scheduled public comment sessions and/or would like to meet with KHSD to discuss the LCAP.

May 15, 2017

KHSD will post draft of the 2017-2018 LCAP for public review.

PUBLIC COMMENT SESSIONS
 
KHSD staff will continue to work with stakeholders, county partners, and staff to review and assess this draft version in the coming days and weeks. If there are formatting issues or changes made to the draft, we will post those drafts here (on June 5 after initial public comment/feedback and budget adjustments/reviews).

In addition, KHSD will make necessary changes to the proposed LCAP draft after the May budget revise that the Office of the Governor releases. Please contact Brian Mendiburu (via email or phone below) if you are not able to attend one of the scheduled public comment sessions listed below and/or would like to meet with KHSD to discuss the LCAP.

Education Code 52060 (g): The Governing Board of a School District shall consult with teachers, principals, administrators, other school personnel, local bargaining units of the district, parents, and pupils in developing the Local Control and Accountability Plan.

Education Code 52062: The superintendent of the school district shall notify members of the public of the opportunity to submit written comments regarding the specific actions and expenditures proposed to be included in the local control and accountability plan or annual update to the local control and accountability plan, using the most efficient method of notification possible. This paragraph shall not require a school district to produce printed notices or to send notices by mail.
