BHS Drummer Invited to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Millions of people across the country had their eyes glued to the TV Thanksgiving morning to watch the 92nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. If you looked closely, you may have seen Wesley Gordon, a senior at Bakersfield High School (BHS) with cymbals in hand. Gordon was one of only a few students selected statewide to play in the 2018 Macy’s Great American Marching Band. He send an audition tape playing three different percussion instruments. Ultimately, he was chosen to play with the band on the cymbal line. Gordon is currently a member of the BHS Orchestra where he plays the string bass and is a percussionist in Bakersfield’s Youth Symphony. He is also a member of the BHS Spirit Squad as Danny Driller.
