Quick Cafes serve up nutritious breakfast, lunch to students

The new school year means new and quick options for breakfast and lunch at a few school sites.

Highland and West high schools now join Arvin High School in serving up food through their Quick Cafés. Each morning and afternoon, the Quick Cafés roll up their doors and are stocked with nutritious food for the students. Stopping by the Quick Café is easy to access without having to always walk to the cafeteria.

KHSD Food Services Director, Jennifer Davis, explained the Quick Cafés are an important addition to these campuses.

“We can provide different access to students throughout the campus, whether they are getting off of the bus or being dropped off. Having that option for the student to utilize a grab-and-go breakfast as they are entering the school,” said Davis.

Davis said Golden Valley and Mira Monte high schools could be next to add Quick Cafés to their campuses.
